PRO BONOCONSULTING CLUB

About the club

We close the gap between knowing business and doing business.

Students spend four years memorizing business terms, and graduate having never actually practiced business work. This club exists to fix that.

The two-track model

The tracks feed each other: Learning builds the skills, and Pro Bono Consulting puts them to work for a real client.

Learning

Each week the club takes one concept, pricing, unit economics, customer research, process improvement, and applies it the same week through a practice case. Every concept gets used immediately, never left as theory.

Pro Bono Consulting

Teams of 3–4 members take on an engagement for a local small business: scope the problem, analyze it with guidance from faculty and working consultants, and deliver recommendations the owner can act on. Free for the business, career-defining for the student.

Two sessions a week

One session to learn the concept, one to apply it. That rhythm is the whole club in miniature.

Session one

Learning session

A focused walkthrough of the week's concept: what it is, when consultants use it, and how to do it well. Short on theory, long on 'here's how this works in practice.'

Session two

Case session

Hands-on application. Members work the week's concept into a practice case: building the model, the dashboard, or the analysis themselves in Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or R.

Meeting days, times, and room go out to members on the interest list.

The tools of the trade, hands on

Members build genuine working fluency in the analysis stack consultants actually use:

  • Excel
  • Power BI
  • Tableau
  • R

A portfolio, not just a résumé line

Every member documents their work, practice cases and client projects alike, in a personal Notion portfolio. When a recruiter asks “what have you actually done?”, our members open a link instead of reciting coursework.

Learn it Monday. Use it Thursday. Show it to a recruiter.

Open to all majors, no dues, no experience required. Founding members shape everything: the culture, the clients, the cases.
